The work
What it involves
Skimming is the bulk of our week. Old wallpapered walls, patched-up plaster and textured ceilings all come up flat under two tight coats of multi-finish. Prep comes first: bonding or PVA where the background needs it, scrim over the joints and cracks, edges cut in clean against skirting and frames.
Rooms get sheeted, sockets masked and everything swept before we leave. The plaster goes on pink and dries back light; give it a week or so and it will take a mist coat.
